Avariel From the Complete Book of Elves.The art for them is generally rather ugly I wonder if they were inspired by the Dark Crystal. They've been playable since Complete Book of Humanoids. Aarakocra Bird-like humanoids that have been in D&D since 1e at least.

But do a little poking around wiki on subjects such as types of gas giants, stars, and water worlds and you'll find a host of ideas to draw inspiration from. Water bodies are sorta my weak spot, more due to how water slows down movement than anything else. Partially, but with a little creativity those worlds can work.
